EchoWize: AI-Powered Client Intelligence for Law Firms

Fulcrum GT is a Chicago-based legal technology company. In Summer 2025, I joined as a Product Owner for a 12-week internal innovation project to explore the use of AI in managing client relationship management.

Law firms operate on relationships. Partners and associates need to stay informed about their clients' businesses - mergers, leadership changes, market shifts - to provide timely advice and identify new business opportunities. However, this intelligence gathering is manual, time-consuming, and fragmented across multiple sources of news sites, company announcements, LinkedIn, internal CRM systems, and email threads.

As a result, junior associates often spend 5-8 hours weekly manually researching client information, and missing client intelligence such as a CFO change or acquisition announcement, could mean a lost opportunity or damaged relationship.

The Challenge

Therefore, our aim is to build an AI-powered client intelligence tool that automatically aggregates information from public and internal data sources, creates proactive alerts to notify lawyers of important client updates, and integrates with each lawyer's practice area.

My role in the project was Product Owner, responsible for end-to-end development while working with two software engineers and one business manager. I conducted user interviews with potential clients, engaged in product design from wireframes to final visual design, and managed agile development from start to finish. I was also responsible for project management, ensuring deliverables were completed on time and stakeholders were informed about project decisions.

While the summer has ended, our team continues to work on the project part-time to ship as many features as possible. Keep an eye out for EchoWize!
